When The Bun Family Players were in existence, I had already embarked on a regretful middle school experience whose memory makes me wince to this day.

Luckily, people like me who were too busy hanging around in the band room wing of school instead of bumming rides from a friend's older sibling into the city had a chance to hear this song, once, played at a KEXP sponsored show at The Green Room of the Showbox in Seattle back in 2004. It's a song that doesn't sound like anything John's written since, and could have acted as a fitting soundtrack to my years in high school spent chasing girls with long-distance boyfriends that they never bothered to tell me about.
